COMMON COLD IN PREGNANT WOMEN

Abstract
Quite frequently we obstetricians are asked questions as to the possible adverse effect of the cold contracted by a pregnant woman on her fetus.
It is not clearly known what influence various bacterial infections of common cold have on the pregnant woman and her fetus. A general consideration of influenza and the pregnant woman, problems of the fetus, treatment .and prevention have been discussed in this paper. Obstetricians should make efforts so that patients know that common cold becomes sometimes the cause of an abortion or a stillbirth, and accordingly, when they need medicine or treatment for common cold, they must consult obstetricians.
